Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in France's Puy-de-Domme on the 9th of August, 1976. She was the oldest of four children. At a young age, both her dental surgeon parents and her teacher mom supported her love of drama and theater. The passion for theater was the one that trumps her first desire to be an animal scientist. It was a quick rise in her career to become an internationally renowned young actress. In 1998 after her studies, she was a participant in an French talent-scouting TV programme Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning her acting career in earnest. Tautou attended church and the Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she is now separating herself from her childhood. In addition to her acting career she started a modelling career. It is her turn to be the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. In addition to her acting work, she has an interest in photography. She recently exhibited some of her photographs during the Arles Film Festival, under the title Superficial. The focus of her photography is celebrity, fame and the media that scrutinised her after her emergence on the scene with Amelie. There are also a number of photographs featuring her self. Audrey Tautou's international recognition and popularity exploded after her appearance in the film as Amelie Poulain's lead woman in Le Fabuleux in the film d'Amelie. Amelie received international acclai box office success and received acclaim at awards galas across the world. It's the largest French language film ever on the US. After this film, Tautou appeared in a variety of films, ranging from British dramas and Jean Pierre Jeunet's long Sunday de Faancailles. After that, she shifted to Hollywood and was in the film with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
